111 Emergency Calls and Power Failures

Hero's VoIP service requires power and an active Internet connection. During a power failure, your Hero phone service and equipment used to access it may not work, which may prevent you from making calls to the 111 emergency service.

We recommend that you have an alternative way to contact 111, such as a mobile phone with adequate mobile network coverage.

If you or someone who normally lives at your premises is at particular risk of needing to call 111 and does not have another way to contact 111 during a power failure, you may be eligible for additional support under the 111 Contact Code. Read about the 111 Contact Code and vulnerable consumer support.
